Disappointing news from Uma Productions: the current production of Orange Lemon Egg Canary will be their last. Christopher details why it's happening and why it sucks. I have no doubt that all of the artists involved in Uma will continue to have healthy careers in theater, but the loss of Uma as an institution—one of the most vibrant voices on the storefront scene over the last few years—is a shame. Their production of Recent Tragic Events remains one of the most memorable theater experiences I've had in Chicago. Here's hoping that Mikhael Tara Garver returns to us after her grad school stint at Columbia; I'd hate to lose her to New York for good.
